Goals of Center for Mendelian Genomics (CMG)

Understanding the Genetic Basis of Mendelian Conditions

The Centers for Mendelian Genomics will apply next-generation sequencing and computational approaches to discover the genes and variants that underlie Mendelian conditions. Our vision is to discover new genes that cause Mendelian conditions. As a result, we will expand our understanding about their biology to facilitate their diagnosis, and potentially indicate new treatments.

Goals:
1) To collaboratively apply next-generation approaches to find the genes and variants underlying Mendelian conditions.
2) To develop and disseminate improved technologies and methods for Mendelian analysis.
3) To share resources that facilitate gene/variant discoveries by the scientific community.
